Details about the Lamy, New Mexico House Weather System

A solar powered Davis Instruments weather station on our home roof uses wireless transmission to send real-time current weather information to a small display unit in my home office. The display unit replicates the weather information in real-time to a Dell 4400 Dimension computer running the XP standard operating system. A $250 software program called Weather View 32 Professional runs continuously displaying current weather information. At user determined intervals (in this case every 5 minutes) the software "snaps" the weather information and automatically FTPs the current weather information to my web host where a web page displays the information along with a graph. Every 5 minutes it also FTPs weather information to the Weather Underground web site where it maintains historical records from volunteer weather stations.

The camera is a Panasonic Network Outdoor Camera Model BB-HCM331A. It provides color real-time images at about 15 frames a second and is accessed via it's internet protocol address. It worked best with an IP "translator" viewnetcam.
